Hierdie heerlike sous het ons geleer eet saam met gestopte vleis rolle, heel hoender of sommer net ‘n warm doopsous vir ‘n fodue. Jy kan ekstra kaas, fyn biltong en wat jy ook al in die kombuiskas kan vind in sit.

RESEP
1 Ui, medium, heel
8 Naeltjies, heel
1 Loerier blaar
300 ml Melk
150 ml Room
125 g Wit brood krummel, vars, fyn gemaak in voedsel verwerker
50 g Botter
15 ml Spriet uie, vars, fyn gekap

METODE
1. Druk die naeltjies binne in die ui en plaas in ‘n diep kastrolletjie wat redelik klein is. Die melk moet die ui halfpad bedek sodat al die geure van die ui en die naeltjies in die melk kan opgeneem word. Laat die melk, lourier blaar en ui net opkook en verwyder van hitte, laat 30 minute staan om geure vry te stel.

2. Na 30 minute verwyder die ui wat ook nie verder gebruik gaan word nie. Dreineer die melk na ‘n skoon kastrolletjie. Voeg die oorblywende bestanddele by en kook vir 5 minute saam…Bedien warm.

ENGLISH VERSION
RECIPE
1 Onion, medium size, peeled
8 Cloves
1 Bay leaf
300 ml Milk
150 ml Cream
125 g White bread crumbs, freshly processed
50 g Butter
15 ml Chives, fresh, chopped finely

METHOD
1. Push cloves into the onion and put into a deep pot with bay leaf and milk. Bring the milk to the boil and remove from heat. Set aside to cool for 30 minutes for flavours to infuse.

2. After 30 minutes remove the onion and discard of it. Strain the milk to a clean pot and add remaining ingredients, bring to the boil for 5 minutes and serve hot.
