Melkkos

Wat is trooskos? Wel, trooskos is vir my siel soos soene op ‘n seer wond! As ek koud kry of na geliefdes verlang…dan gryp ek my ou Aga pot en kook melkkos. Die reuk van kaneel streel my gemoed en bring soveel wonderlike herinngeringe mee, van tye rondom my moeder se tafel. Wat is jou trooskos en hoekom?

2 liter melk
140 g (1 k) koekmeel
5ml sout
15 g (20 ml) Botter
Kaneelsuiker

Smeer die boom van jou beste melktert kastrol met botter om aanbrand te voorkom.

Sif die droë bestanddele saam en vryf die botter in die koekmeel totdat jy GEEN korreltjies botter voel. Dit moet soos broodkrummels lyk.

Voeg nou die meel mengsel by die kokende melk. Klop met houtlepel die mengsel en sit die deksel op en laat prut vir 8-10 minute totdat die stysel verdik het. Die mengsel sal klonterig voorkom…dit moet so wees.

Skep dan in lagies met stukkies botter, kaneel en melkkos en herhaal.

PS: Om dit soos vla te laat lyk en proe…voeg 1 e vla by die droeë bestanddele tydens die sif proses om goed te meng.
