Heuning gemarineerde Kortrib skywe

Hierdie is my piekniek happie vir die kinders as ons rivier toe gaan om te kuier. Hulle speel en stap in die bos en kom vra dan vir ’n knaag dingetjie. Die kortrib skywe word sommerso langs die vuurtjie se vlamme gerooster voordat die kole gereed is…die sousie word bros en heerlik. Hierdie sous is ook perfek om kleiner stukkies vleis soos hoender vlerkies mee te marineer en so oor die kole te braai.

500 g kortrib skywe (vark of bees) foto: vark
125 ml (½ k) heuning
60 ml (4 e) balsamiese asyn
60 ml (4 e) treacle suiker
30 ml (2 e) tamatiepuree
125 ml (1/2k) appelsap of appelkoos sap
125 ml (½ k) olyfolie
30 ml (2 e) fyn knoffel
5 ml (1 t) gerookte paprika (Cape Herb ‘n Spice)
Sout en peper na smaak

Meng al die bestanddele behalwe vleis saam. Smeer oor die kortrib skywe en marineer oornag. Jy kan ook die kortrib skywe met die sous oor vries vir latere gebruik.

Braai oor die kole tot gaar…smeer van die ekstra sous oor van tyd tot tyd.
