Ham en Ertjie sop / Ham and Pea soup

Hierdie is ‘n droom sop om te maak in die hutspot! Indien jy wel kan beplan week die ertjies verkieslik vir meer as ‘n uur of oornag. As jy vroeg oggend voor werk die mengsel in die pot sit, word jou neusvleuls gegroet soos jy by die huis se paadjie in ry! Kleintyd.. lekker kry, kos hierdie!

Resep
150g Kassler loin skyf (kan met spek vervang word of gerookte ham)
250ml Droë ertjies
1 Ui, gekap
1 liter Aftreksel van keuse
250ml Wortel, gerasper, ingedruk
2 Aartappels, medium geskil, blokkies
Vars gemaalde swart peper na smaak

Metode:
Verskillende gaarmaak opsies:
a. Drukkoker: Plaas al die bestanddele in die drukkoker en kook vir 30 minute of tot die pot se fluitjie stoom. Laat die pot afkoel voordat jy dit oopmaak. Maak die bestanddele fyn met ‘n vurk of puree tot glad. Peper na smaak. Ekstra room vir die lekkerte met bros gebraaide spek repies.

b. Hutspot: Plaas al die bestanddele in die hutspot en maak op hoog gaar vir 6-8 ure. Maak bestanddele fyn en bedien soos in punt a.

c. Stoof: Plaas al die bestanddele in sop kastrol en kook vir 35-45 minute totdat die vleis sag is en uitmekaar val. Maak bestanddele fyn en verwerk soos in punt a.

250ml Dried split peas
1 Onion, finely diced
1 litre Stock of Choice
250ml Carrots, finely grated, pushed into cup
2 Potato’s peeled, cubed, medium size
Freshly grinded black pepper to taste

Method:
Cooking options:
a. Pressure cooker: Put all ingredients into pot and simmer for 30 minutes until the pressure whistle sounds. Remove from heat, let it cool before opening. Mash ingredients or liquidized as preferred. Serve hot with extra cream and pepper to taste.

b. Slow cooker: Put all ingredients into pot and simmer for 6-8 hours. Mash ingredients or liquidized as preferred. Serve hot with extra cream and pepper to taste.

c. Stove top: In a large enough pot add all the ingredients and simmer for 35-45 minutes until all the ingredients are soft. Mash ingredients or liquidized as preferred. Serve hot with extra cream and pepper to taste.
